As a native Southern Californian, Tim Martin grew up in the Temecula Wine Country after moving from Orange County at a young age. He worked in the wine industry full-time while attending school at the University of California, Riverside, where he obtained his Economics degree with a Finance concentration.
Shortly after graduating, Tim decided to move to San Diego in search for opportunities in the world of finance and began his search. While studying for his finance licenses, he took on a job in retail at Nordstrom where he added and refined his skills in working with people and meeting their needs. After passing his first financial license exam, he started interviewing with various advisory firms in search of a company who would share his passion for helping others and helping them obtain their ideal financial future.
After being offered positions at numerous firms, he stumbled across Derek McDougall and One San Diego and instantly knew it was what he was looking for to launch his career in financial services. He was captivated by Derek’s knowledge and experience in the industry as well as his drive to change the status quo and provide a client-centric advisory environment that would truly position people to live their best lives.
In his free time, Tim enjoys wine tasting, sporting events, and outdoor activities including snowboarding, beach days and camping.
